The Government, through the Public Works Ministry, is set to hand over 400 heavy-duty vehicle clamps to the Guyana Police Force (GPF) with the aim of targeting errant drivers who continue to disregard the Government’s continuous appeals to desist from transporting overweight materials and cargo.
This development was revealed by Public Works Minister Bishop Juan Edghill during a live broadcast on the Ministry’s social media page, where he emphasised that this procurement is a vital component of a major, nationwide enforcement drive, specifically targeting overloaded trucks and illegally parked heavy-duty vehicles along the country’s primary roadways.
