Republic Bank has announced that, effective August 21, 2025, a new maximum spending limit of US$2,500 per billing cycle will apply to all foreign transactions on its credit cards.
The cap will apply to all international transactions conducted outside of Trinidad and Tobago, as well as online purchases from overseas merchants – including those billed in Trinidad and Tobago dollars (TTD). Customers whose US-dollar credit limit is less than US$2,500 will be restricted to their existing limit.
The bank clarified that local transactions, whether online or at in-store merchants, will remain unaffected.
