A 40-year-old Speyside man remains in stable condition at the Scarborough General Hospital after a knife attack on Saturday night left him with a gaping wound to the abdomen and his internal organs exposed.
Police said Aloy Crooks was severely stabbed during an altercation along Main Road, Speyside, around 10.45pm. He was first taken to Roxborough Hospital before being transferred to Scarborough General for emergency treatment. His younger brother, 37-year-old Daylon Crooks, was also injured, having been stabbed under his left armpit.
According to reports, a 49-year-old suspect had been liming with a friend when a man known as “Leebeck” approached and slapped him. The suspect slapped him back, prompting the man to leave. Shortly afterwards, the Crooks brothers allegedly began throwing bottles at the suspect. He reportedly retaliated by drawing a knife and stabbing both men.
