Following a diving incident at Pigeon Point last year, the family of pilot Christon Battersby is appealing for assistance to aid his recovery.
Relatives have set up a GoFundMe campaign as they seek to raise US$310,000.
The Caribbean Airlines (CAL) pilot of Maracas Valley, St Joseph was at Pigeon Point Heritage Park in March 2025 when he dove into the water and struck his head on an object. He was unconscious when taken out of the water, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) was administered by lifeguards before emergency responders arrived. Two tourists also assisted. Battersby was rushed to the Scarborough General Hospital and transferred to the Port of Spain General Hospital.
