The Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard responded to a maritime distress report on Sunday, August 2nd, involving the French-flagged sailing vessel MANA ORA, which had become disabled and was drifting north of Trinidad after suffering a loss of propulsion and becoming adrift.

Following the report, the TTS SCARBOROUGH, which was on patrol, successfully located the vessel, and Coast Guard personnel safely commenced a towing operation to render assistance.

In a statement, the Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard noted that it remains committed to ensuring the safety of life at sea and maintaining maritime security within Trinidad and Tobago’s maritime area of responsibility.
