Venezuela’s parliament yesterday declared Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar “persona non grata”—an unwelcome person—citing her support for the United States’ military presence in the region.
The draft declaration against Persad-Bissessar was prominently displayed on the Venezuelan National Assembly website.
Video footage online showed that president of the National Assembly Jorge Rodriguez moved, and passed, the motion to declare Persad-Bissessar persona non grata.
