AFTER a two-year legal limbo, three men accused of misbehaviour in public office and uttering forged documents in an alleged fraud at the Licensing Division have been discharged by the High Court.
The decision, handed down by Master Adia Mohammed on Tuesday, came after the State repeatedly failed to advance its prosecution, despite receiving multiple extensions.
Attorney Renuka Rambhajan, who represented one of the accused Errol Supersad, argued that the prolonged delays underscored a misuse of the Administration of Justice (Indictable Proceedings Act (AJIPA) process.
