A police officer was killed after his BMW collided with a utility pole on the highway in Couva on Monday.

The collision occurred around 12.30 p.m. on the northbound lane of the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway.

Police were told that the constable was driving to work to take up his duties at a unit in Port-of-Spain when his vehicle lost control, spun several times then struck a utility pole.
