Police are investigating a shooting in South Maloney Gardens that left a 47-year-old man critically injured on Monday afternoon.
According to reports, Jimmy Maxine was on the ground floor of Building 18 around noon when he spotted a suspicious red vehicle. As he moved into the building, he saw two masked men, one armed with a rifle, the other with a pistol, running toward him. Shortly thereafter, gunshots rang out, and Maxine was shot in the buttocks.
The attackers then fled the scene in a white Nissan Tiida (registration PDM-4550). First responders transported Maxine to the Arima Health Facility, where he was treated for two gunshot wounds and later transferred to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex.
