A man convicted of buggery against a 16-year-old boy has been sentenced to 18 years in prison with hard labour after a High Court judge found that he had exploited the teenager’s vulnerability and dependency.
Nigel Gordon Phillip, of Valencia, was sentenced by Justice Nalini Singh, who imposed two nine-year sentences for the offences and ordered that they be served consecutively.
Phillip, 48, was convicted by a jury on June 26 but was acquitted on a third count.
