PNM PRO Faris Al-Rawi and party chairman Marvin Gonzales hit the government for 4,608 workers and contractors from the National Reforestation and Watershed Programme were fired, addressing reporters at Balisier House, Port of Spain, on July 2.
Circulating online earlier was a notice of termination of contract issued to a contractor by Rural Development Company (RDC) of TT CEO Jason Kissoon dated July 2. It said, "I am directed to formally advise that, pursuant to clause 15 of the (contract) agreement , your contract is hereby terminated with immediate effect."
The letter said in line with the agreement, the contractor will be paid for 30 days in lieu of notice. The RDC thanked the contractor for his service and asked him to return all RDC property or materials within seven days receipt of that notice.
