MinÂisÂter of the PeoÂple, SoÂcial DeÂvelÂopÂment and FamÂiÂly SerÂvices VanÂdana MoÂhit toÂday preÂsentÂed cheques to the ChilÂdren’s AuÂthorÂiÂty of Trinidad and ToÂbaÂgo to covÂer reÂcentÂly auÂditÂed outÂstandÂing payÂments toÂtalling $36,039,734.51.
In a meÂdia reÂlease, the minÂistry said the payÂments covÂered long-outÂstandÂing inÂvoicÂes for opÂerÂaÂtional serÂvices and conÂtracÂtuÂal obligÂaÂtions, which it said were esÂsenÂtial to enÂsurÂing the conÂtinÂued deÂlivÂery of care and proÂtecÂtion serÂvices to chilÂdren unÂder the AuÂthorÂiÂty’s care.
The payÂments inÂcludÂed $31,278,765.70 for seÂcuÂriÂty serÂvices proÂvidÂed by varÂiÂous comÂpaÂnies, $2,903,299.85 for works at the NaÂtionÂal Care and EmÂpowÂerÂment CenÂtre, and $1,857,668.96 for janÂiÂtoÂrÂiÂal serÂvices.
