PresĀiĀdent of the CrimĀiĀnal Bar AsĀsoĀciĀaĀtion, IsĀrael B Khan, SC, says Prime MinĀisĀter KamĀla PerĀsad-BissesĀsarās alĀleĀgaĀtion that two inĀdeĀpenĀdent senĀaĀtors sought perĀsonĀal favours in exĀchange for supĀportĀing the Zones of SpeĀcial OpĀerĀaĀtions (ZOSO) bill amounts to a claim of seĀriĀous crimĀiĀnal conĀduct and must be forĀmalĀly inĀvesĀtiĀgatĀed.
In a stateĀment isĀsued yesĀterĀday, Khan said if the alĀleĀgaĀtion is true, it would conĀstiĀtute the comĀmon law ofĀfences of corĀrupĀtion and soĀlicĀitĀing a bribe.
