OpĀpoĀsiĀtion Leader PenĀneĀlope BeckĀles is callĀing on Prime MinĀisĀter KamĀla PerĀsad-BissesĀsar to break her siĀlence and name the two inĀdeĀpenĀdent senĀaĀtors she claims atĀtemptĀed to soĀlicĀit bribes in exĀchange for supĀportĀing the Zones of SpeĀcial OpĀerĀaĀtions (ZOSO) Bill.
PerĀsad-BissesĀsar has alĀleged that the two inĀdeĀpenĀdents apĀproached a seĀnior GovĀernĀment senĀaĀtor seekĀing perĀsonĀal favours to seĀcure their supĀport for the Law ReĀform (Zones of SpeĀcial OpĀerĀaĀtions) (SpeĀcial SeĀcuĀriĀty and ComĀmuĀniĀty DeĀvelĀopĀment) Bill, 2026.
She said the reĀquests were reĀjectĀed and from that point, it was clear the bill, which reĀquired a three-fifths maĀjorĀiĀty in the SenĀate, would fail.
