The Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce has expressed support for the Government’s decision to implement a State of Emergency (SoE) to combat threats to national security.
However, the Chamber noted that the SoE was a short-term step, and required comprehensive and sustainable strategies to curb criminal activities.
Responding today, in a press release, the Chamber stated that it “strongly condemns the coordinated criminal activity, recently revealed, that originated within correctional facilities and was aimed at undermining national security institutions and endangering senior officials”.
