THE Trinidad and Tobago Police Service has paid out almost $794 million in overtime claims over the past two years and eight months, according to figures released under the Freedom of Information Act.
The data, obtained in response to an application by attorney Keron Ramkhalwhan on behalf of his client Vishal Persad, show that the TTPS paid $233,867,199.22 in overtime in 2024, $276,838,626.07 in 2025 and $283,187,439.36 between January and August this year.
The combined payout for the 32-month period was $793,893,264.65.
