Police detained 44 undocumented immigrants during a coordinated anti-crime exercise in Princes Town on Saturday night.
The operation, carried out by the Southern Division Task Force between 6 p.m. and 11.30 p.m., targeted a premises at Malgretoute Village which officers said was being used for illegal gambling activities, including cockfighting.
Police said when officers entered the building, a large number of people attempted to flee, with some jumping from the second floor.
