MoE urges religious groups to pray for students, teachers as schools reopen

The Ministry of Education (MoE) has called on religious organisations across the country to unite in seeking God’s guidance, protection and blessings for students, teachers, and school communities ahead of the August 31 reopening.

“Greetings, in the name of our shared commitment to the spiritual and educational well-being of the children and youth of our nation. Education is not only a national priority but also a sacred trust. As our children return to the classroom and our teachers prepare to guide and inspire them, we firmly believe that spiritual support strengthens the foundation upon which learning, character and national development are built.”

The Ministry is also requesting that, during worship services and other gatherings in the coming days and weeks, special prayers be offered for children, teachers and schools. The Ministry is asking that prayers be made for children to be protected, inspired and empowered to learn with purpose, diligence and joy, while teachers are prayed for to be blessed with wisdom, patience, strength and renewed commitment as they nurture and shape the leaders of tomorrow. Prayers are also being sought for schools to remain safe, welcoming and nurturing environments where every student is given the opportunity to thrive and achieve their fullest potential.
