The Government of Trinidad and Tobago has publicly declared support for the United States and its allies amid the rapidly escalating military conflict in the Middle East, while urging nationals in affected territories to shelter in place.
In an advisory issued Saturday, the Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs stated that this country supports actions aimed at preventing what it described as “oppressive regimes” from acquiring nuclear weapons capabilities that could threaten international peace and security.
“The proliferation of such weapons is a grave threat not only to regional stability in the Middle East but also to the global community as a whole,” the statement read.
