PHILADELPHIA (AP) ā Ivory Coast got goals from Nicolas PĆ©pĆ© in each half and advanced to theĀ World CupĀ knockout round for the first time in the West African teamās history with a 2-0 victory over CuraƧao on Thursday.
Les ĆlĆ©phants have crashed the party and made it out of their group for the first time in four World Cup appearances.
Ivory CoastĀ beat Ecuador 1-0Ā in its tournament opener ā at the same Philadelphia stadium as Thursdayās game ā and lost to Germany in its Group E second game.
