The Wa­ter and Sew­er­age Au­thor­i­ty says four crit­i­cal wells in To­ba­go have been van­dalised, re­sult­ing in wide­spread dis­rup­tion to the wa­ter sup­ply. In a me­dia re­lease yes­ter­day, WASA said the van­dal­ism took place at the Claude Noel High­way, Ba­co­let, Arnos Vale and Bloody Bay wells, leav­ing 17 ar­eas with­out a con­sis­tent sup­ply of pipe-borne wa­ter.

The af­fect­ed ar­eas in­clude Crown Point, Canaan, Bon Ac­cord, Buc­coo, Black Rock, Low­lands, Lam­beau, Pa­tience Hill, Sig­nal Hill, Les Coteaux, Ply­mouth, Cul­lo­den, Sea View, Bloody Bay, Cas­tara, L’anse Four­mi and Par­latu­vi­er.

It said it has im­ple­ment­ed in­creased se­cu­ri­ty at key fa­cil­i­ties and urged the pub­lic to re­port any il­le­gal ac­tiv­i­ty to its van­dal­ism hot­line 465-2949. It al­so re­mind­ed that van­dal­ism was a crim­i­nal of­fence.
