Police are investigating an armed robbery at a business on Eastern Main Road, Barataria, on Wednesday.
According to reports, around 6:45 a.m., two men entered the premises, one of whom was armed with a silver firearm. The victims, a 66-year-old business owner and her 27-year-old companion, fled in fear onto Eastern Main Road. Shortly after, they found their cellphones discarded along 3rd Street, Barataria.
Members of the N.E.D Task Force, recovered the phones and later seized a leather strap bag containing a silver-and-yellow firearm. The weapon was identified as a Llama Microma X380, fitted with a magazine containing two rounds of .380 ammunition.
