Martin: Crime fight will not end after SoE

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations) Suzette Martin says the end of the state of emergency (SoE) is not the end of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service commitment to public safety.

The state of emergency, which was proclaimed on March 2, 2026, and took effect on March 3, came to an end at midnight yesterday.

During its tenure, it received two parliamentary extensions —first on March 13, and then a second three-month extension on June 10.
