MANCHESTER, United Kingdom (AFP)âReggae Girl and Manchester Cityâs Khadijah âBunnyâ Shaw was crowned the Professional Footballersâ Association (PFA) womenâs player of the year for the second time on Tuesday as Manchester Unitedâs captain Bruno Fernandes scooped the menâs award.
Portuguese international Fernandes broke the all-time record for Premier League assists during an outstanding individual 2025/26 season, setting up 21 goals as he surpassed Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyneâs previous mark.
The 31-year-old also scored nine times as United overcame a poor start to finish third in the Premier League under Michael Carrick and earn a return to the Champions League.
