Jamaica's Kelly-Ann Beckford and Kevongaye Fowler outdid themselves in their respective 800 metres events at Saturday's Under Armour Track and Field Nationals at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.
Competing in the Pro National women's two-lap event, Beckford, the national champion in the event, went under two minutes for the first time in her career, winning impressively in 1:58.88 ahead of Victoria Bossong of New Balance, who was second in 1:59.51, with McKenzie Kevaughn of the United States third in 2:00.81.
It was a massive improvement for Beckford, whose previous best was 2:00.17 done in Freeport, Bahamas, at the 2025 NACAC Championships, where she finished third for the bronze medal.
