Rescued fisherman Shannon “Joey” Mohammed made contact with his wife in Trinidad yesterday, saying he was being cared for but did not know when they would return home.
In a five-minute telephone call, Mohammed shared how the six-member crew survived on bottled water and burnt biscuits.
One of the men, 66-year-old Trinidadian Anthony Murray, died hours after being rescued.
