A violent cutlass attack during a glass-bottom boat tour at No Man’s Land has prompted a boycott of the popular Tobago destination by several reef tour operators.
President of the Store Bay Reef Tour Association, Michael Frank, confirmed that some operators have suspended trips to the site following the incident, which saw a man chopped in the face after a group stormed a tour boat from the shore.
“What took place a few days ago is the fact that a glass bottom boat pulled into the beach, unknown persons from on shore stormed the boat to attack somebody on board the boat. Is not the issue of glass bottom boats to fight off intruders on shore, we do not carry weapons so the best we can do is try to defend ourselves and our clients”.
