Authorities have intensified enforcement at the Buccoo Reef Marine Park, where a joint operation last Friday uncovered widespread breaches of regulations.
According to the Division of Food Security, Natural Resources, the Environment and Sustainable Development, several boats were inspected, resulting in five fines for overcrowding and two suspensions for missing safety equipment. Jet skis were also impounded for operating illegally within the reef zone.
In addition, enforcement teams shut down unlicensed vendors, ordered non-compliant food operations closed until corrective measures are taken, and seized narcotics and alcohol.
