The United States visa of a sitting minister in the Kamla Persad-Bissessar-led Government has reportedly been revoked, while the visa status of a senior judicial officer has also come under scrutiny.
The Sunday Express contacted the minister via WhatsApp on October 2, seeking a response. Although the message appeared to have been read that day, no response was received. Follow-up messages sent on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday last week also went unanswered, as did at least two telephone calls made during that period.
Further attempts to reach the minister by telephone on Friday were unsuccessful. A call placed at 9.26 a.m. was answered but immediately disconnected, while a second call shortly afterwards went unanswered. Subsequent WhatsApp messages seeking comment were read, but no response was received.
