A landlord was arrested Saturday after allegedly trying to set fire to a tenant’s home during a dispute over rent.
Police reported that around 5:18 p.m., officers responded to a disturbance at a two-storey, wooden-and-concrete residence on Sobo Circular Road. Upon arrival, the officers observed the landlord pour a flammable liquid on the wall of the house and ignite it while the tenant was inside.
The responding officers quickly extinguished the blaze, limiting damage to the wall. No injuries were reported. Crime scene officers and a police photographer processed the scene, and a statement was recorded from the tenant, a 25-year-old security guard.
