Police Service Commission (PolSC) chairman Dr Wendell Wallace confirmed on Tuesday that Police Commissioner Erla Harewood-Christopher had not yet received formal notification lifting her suspension, but the letter could be delivered by Wednesday morning.
Harewood-Christopher was suspended after her arrest on 30 January, tied to the investigation into the illegal transfer of a sniper rifle to the Strategic Services Agency (SSA). On Saturday, Director of Public Prosecutions Roger Gaspard, SC, said there was enough to treat her as a suspect but not enough evidence to lay charges.
On Monday, reports indicated she may soon return to duty.
