The Barbados Meteorological Services (BMS) has upgraded the flash-flood watch for Barbados to a warning as a tropical wave continues to bring moderate to heavy showers across the island.
The flash-flood warning was issued at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, just over two hours after the BMS placed the island under a flash-flood watch.
Forecasters said the tropical wave is affecting Barbados in a favourable upper-level environment, with moderate to heavy showers expected to produce between two and three inches of rainfall.
