Hours afÂter the draw for CaÂlypÂso FiÂesÂta at RadisÂson HoÂtel in Port-of-Spain yesÂterÂday, TUÂCO said it reÂmains an apoÂlitÂiÂcal body, esÂtabÂlished by an act of ParÂliaÂment, and is not afÂfilÂiÂatÂed with any poÂlitÂiÂcal parÂty or groupÂing. The orÂganÂiÂsaÂtion stressed that it deÂnounces any atÂtempt to porÂtray CaÂlypÂso FiÂesÂta as a poÂlitÂiÂcal ralÂly, inÂsistÂing the event must reÂmain a culÂturÂal and comÂpetÂiÂtive showÂcase cenÂtered on artisÂtic exÂcelÂlence and naÂtionÂal exÂpresÂsion.
