The National Joint Action Committee (NJAC) has congratulated the United National Congress (UNC) and the Coalition of Interests on what it described as “a well-deserved victory in the 2025 General Elections,” while urging the new administration to pursue a more equitable model of national development.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, NJAC also extended congratulations to Prime Minister-elect Kamla Persad-Bissessar—who now becomes Trinidad and Tobago’s second female Prime Minister—as well as Chief Secretary Farley Augustine and the Tobago People’s Party (TPP) for their success in Tobago.
NJAC, which was a member of the People's Partnership coalition that brought Persad-Bissessar to power in 2010, used the moment to call for a shift in governance priorities.
