The Na­tion­al Joint Ac­tion Com­mit­tee (NJAC) has con­grat­u­lat­ed the Unit­ed Na­tion­al Con­gress (UNC) and the Coali­tion of In­ter­ests on what it de­scribed as “a well-de­served vic­to­ry in the 2025 Gen­er­al Elec­tions,” while urg­ing the new ad­min­is­tra­tion to pur­sue a more eq­ui­table mod­el of na­tion­al de­vel­op­ment.

In a state­ment is­sued on Tues­day, NJAC al­so ex­tend­ed con­grat­u­la­tions to Prime Min­is­ter-elect Kam­la Per­sad-Bisses­sar—who now be­comes Trinidad and To­ba­go’s sec­ond fe­male Prime Min­is­ter—as well as Chief Sec­re­tary Far­ley Au­gus­tine and the To­ba­go Peo­ple’s Par­ty (TPP) for their suc­cess in To­ba­go.

NJAC, which was a mem­ber of the Peo­ple's Part­ner­ship coali­tion that brought Per­sad-Bisses­sar to pow­er in 2010, used the mo­ment to call for a shift in gov­er­nance pri­or­i­ties.
