At least four non-fatal car accidents left motorists stuck in traffic for hours this morning, forcing the temporary opening of the Priority Bus Route.
From as early as five am, motorists were left stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic along the Churchill Roosevelt heading west into Port of Spain. This was compounded by another accident along the Uriah Butler Highway, forcing those heading north to meet with the traffic already heading west.
A third accident in Maloney worsened the gridlock with driver now stuck in traffic caused by the other two accidents that were now overlapping.
