The large-scale deployment of troops, warships and aircraft across Latin America and the Caribbean area has led to a decline in pirate attacks, say fishermen in Central, South and Southwestern Trinidad.
According to the fishermen, despite the formal announcement by the US of the start of a major military campaign targeting “narco-terrorists”, fishing activities have been continuing as normal within Trinidad and Tobago waters.
The announcement was made yesterday by United States Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth.
