The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service says the proposed mobile police units are intended to bring officers closer to communities that do not have easy access to a fixed police post, enhancing visibility and responsiveness.

Speaking on Trinidad and Tobago Today on Monday, TTPS Media Ambassador Sergeant Devonn Jagroop said their placement would be guided by information from the TTPS Crime and Problem Analysis Branch.

“These units bring a police presence directly into residential communities that never had one before. That proximity changes the picture. Officers are minutes away instead of a long drive, and residents can report suspicious activity earlier, and that early reporting is the heart of situational awareness.”
