Elderly woman beats intruder with cutlass in Ste Madeleine

A 68-YEAR-OLD woman fought off an alleged intruder with a cutlass, after he reportedly entered her property and threatened to kill her at Golconda Settlement, Ste Madeleine, on Tuesday night.
Police said the incident occurred around 8.50 p.m. when the woman was at her home and heard a man shouting outside.
On checking, she allegedly saw a man she knew as 'Dougla' on the roadway near her home. Investigators said the suspect then opened the front gate and entered the property without permission.
