(Kaieteur News) – Member of Parliament (MP) for A Partnership for National Unity, Ganesh Mahipaul, in a statement on Friday, called on the government of Guyana to make public the tenders submitted for the salvaging of the MV Barima.
He is appealing to the Ministry of Public Utilities and Aviation, the Maritime Administration Department (MARAD) Guyana, and Minister Deodat Indar “to immediately release to the Guyanese public the names of all companies that submitted tenders/proposals for the floating and salvage of the MV Barima, together with the total bid sum submitted by each bidder.”
Mahipaul reminded that MARAD, under the Ministry of Public Utilities and Aviation, had issued an invitation to marine salvage contractors for the submission of proposals to recover the vessel.
