MEMBERS of the disabled community expressed pride yesterday following the appointment of one of their own as an Independent senator.
Described as a ābeacon of hopeā for her educational achievements and skills, Alicia Pauline Lalite-Ettienne is seen as proof that a personās abilities extend far beyond their disability.
President of Persons Associated with Visual Impairment (PAVI) Candice John, speaking about Lalite-Ettienneās appointment on TV6ās Morning Edition programme yesterday, said the association was elated that she was appointed as an Independent senator.
