FORMER People’s National Movement (PNM) Tobago Council chairman Nicole Henry-Waldron will not be returning to the post despite asking to withdraw her resignation, council leader Shamfa Cudjoe-Lewis has said.
Speaking with the Express in a phone interview yesterday, Cudjoe-Lewis said Henry-Waldron resigned with immediate effect last Thursday, relinquishing not only the chairmanship but also her membership in the party and all its units. She said vice chairman Petal Daniel-Benoit had subsequently assumed the chairmanship in accordance with the party’s constitution.
Cudjoe-Lewis confirmed that on Saturday, Henry-Waldron wrote asking to withdraw her resignation, but the PNM Tobago leader said any decision on her return to the party as a member would rest with the PNM’s Central Executive.
