As the search for kidÂnapped couÂple DerÂrick and ClariÂbel Tardieu conÂtinÂued yesÂterÂday, OpÂpoÂsiÂtion MP MarÂvin GonÂzaÂles called on Prime MinÂisÂter KamÂla PerÂsad-BissesÂsar to exÂplain what she meant by callÂing the US$2.5 milÂlion ranÂsom deÂmand âfishy,â sayÂing the comÂment was âinÂsenÂsiÂtive.â
PoÂlice reÂportÂed that Tardieu, 70, a busiÂnessÂman, and his 47-year-old wife were snatched from their Blanchette Bay, Monos IsÂland home on SatÂurÂday night.
A famÂiÂly friend reÂceived a disÂtressÂing voice note from a cellÂphone with a ColomÂbian regÂisÂtraÂtion numÂber inÂformÂing them of the kidÂnapÂping around 9.44 pm. The mesÂsage, which came from DerÂrick Tardieu, said, âDey have meh and want 2.5 milÂlion US for meh reÂlease.â
