With his Young King title secured Anthony La Fleur, who goes by the sobriquet Squeezy Rankin, will once again line up in Calypso Fiesta 2025 scheduled to take place at Skinner Park in San Fernando on Saturday

Jelani Kojo who goes by the sobriquet Lani K will raise the curtain on the competition with the song Death Row, “Lord I Repent.” The curtain will close after Kadija Jeremiah sings, “Oh Woman.”

On Saturday, 40 contestants including veterans like Rikki Jai (Samraj Jaimungal) and Kurt Allen aka The Last Bardjohn of Calypso, as well as newcomer Yung Bredda (Akhenaton Lewis) will showdown for a place at the National Calypso Monarch Final carded to be held on Carnival Sunday in an attempt to dethrone current champion Machel Montano who is set to defend his crown.
