Former monarchs Terri Lyons, Karene Asche and Tazyah O’Connor are among 11 finalists who will on Sunday attempt to dethrone reigning Calypso Monarch Helon Francis at the Dimanche Gras competition, at the Grand Stand, Queen’s Park Savannah, Port of Spain.

The 11 made the cut from a field of 40 semifinalists who graced the stage at Calypso Fiesta in Skinner Park, San Fernando, on Saturday.

In addition to Lyons, Asche and O’Connor, the other earning the approval of the judges were Yung Bredda (Akenathon Lewis), Rikki Jai (Samraj Jaimungal), Muhammad Muwakil of Freetown Collective, Kerice Pascall, Roslyn Reid Hayes, Giselle Fraser, Nicole Thomas-Clarke and 2026 Young King Rivaldo London.
