(Kaieteur News) – The Guyana Police Force (GPF) recorded 124 reports of domestic and family violence involving girls under the age of 18 between 2020 and 2025.
The figure was confirmed by Minister of Home Affairs Oneidge Walrond at the last sitting of the National Assembly, in a written response to a question from Opposition Member of Parliament and Leader of the Forward Guyana Movement (FGM), Amanza Walton.
Walton had asked the minister to state “how many reports of domestic violence involved girls under the age of 18, disaggregated by region, during the period of 2020-2025.”
