PRESIDENT of the Prison Officers’ Association Gerard Gordon has responded to the recent interception of a drone about 50 metres from the Maximum Security Prison (MSP) in Arouca and said the service has had to contend with multiple drones.
Police reported on Monday that an operation conducted between 7 p.m. on Sunday and 5.45 a.m. on Monday, resulted in the capture of a drone near the MSP and the arrest of three people.
Seized were cigarettes, narcotics and communication devices which were items that were about to be dropped in. The joint operation was led by Commissioner of Police Allister Guevarro, DCP (Operations) Suzette Martin, ASP Stanley, and Senior Superintendent of Prisons Lee Davis.
