Police are searching for a group of criminals who robbed two employees of a company van of nearly $65,000 in cash during a daylight attack in Valencia on Friday afternoon.
According to a police report, around 3:35 p.m., a 49-year-old driver was in the process of dropping off a co-worker after completing sales deliveries in a three-tonne company van. As they approached the corner of Dawn Avenue and Clarence Trace, they were ambushed by a group of men.
The driver told police that some of the attackers had their faces covered, and were armed with cutlasses and a firearm. One of the men, armed with the gun, reportedly opened the van door, struck both employees, and made off with $64,895 in sales proceeds, along with two mobile phones.
