Minister of Defence Wayne Sturge has moved to take legal action against Opposition MP Marvin Gonzales over allegations that he ācame into power by being funded by drug traffickers and drug dealersā.
In a pre-action protocol letter dated Monday, June 8th, 2026, Minister Sturgeās attorneys accused MP Gonzales of making āfalse, reckless and wholly unjustifiedā statements at a June 3rd public meeting in San Juan, where he allegedly made the comments.
The legal team, Freedom Law Chambers, led by former Attorney General Senior Counsel Anand Ramlogan, said the claim was broadcast live on the Peopleās National Movementās Facebook page to a wide audience and has caused āserious harmā to Minister Sturgeās reputation.
