Police are investigating an attempted robbery in Laventille on Wednesday morning that was thwarted after the victim’s mother, a police officer, drew her licensed firearm.
Around 8 a.m., a 20-year-old man went with his mother to sell a hoodie near L&M Engineering along the Eastern Main Road when two men approached them.
One suspect placed his hand into the young man’s pocket and announced a robbery. At that point, his mother drew her firearm. The second suspect shouted “gun boy,” and both men ran off in different directions.
