Works and Infrastructure Minister Jearlean John has dismissed reports of an incident involving a runaway truck aboard the MV Golden Carrier as it disembarked the vessel during a trial run on Monday night.
She told the Express via a WhatsApp yesterday that according to a report she received from the Port Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (PATT) yesterday, there were no incidents recorded in the vessel’s After Sailing Report.
“Additionally, checks with the vessel’s captain indicated that there was an issue with one truck where the handbrake was not engaged or failed. The vehicle rolled backwards but stopped before hitting a car behind it,” she further stated.
